How to convert WAV to MP3
- Drop your WAV file on the box above, or tap it to choose. You can pick several files at once.
- MP3 is already selected. Adjust the quality if you like (192 kbps is a good default, 320 kbps for the best quality).
- Tap the download button next to each file. Your MP3 is saved to your Downloads folder.
Shrink a mix, a voice memo export or a sample pack to MP3 so it is easy to email, upload or play anywhere. 24-bit, 32-bit float and high sample-rate WAVs (88.2/96 kHz) all work.

Frequently asked questions
Which MP3 bitrate should I choose?
320 kbps is the highest quality and is nearly indistinguishable from the WAV for most listeners. 192 kbps is a good balance. 128 kbps is fine for speech, podcasts and demos.
What happens to a 96 kHz or 24-bit WAV?
MP3 supports sample rates up to 48 kHz, so higher rates are converted to 48 kHz with the browser's high-quality resampler. Bit depth doesn't apply to MP3; the encoder works from the full-resolution audio.
How much smaller will the MP3 be?
A 320 kbps MP3 is about 4.5 times smaller than a 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo WAV; a 128 kbps MP3 is about 11 times smaller.
Can I make a mono MP3?
Yes. Set Channels to Mono. That halves the data, which is useful for voice recordings.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Choose or drop as many files as you like. They are converted one after another and each gets its own download button.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your audio is never sent to a server, so it works with private and unreleased recordings.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit. Very long files (over about an hour) may be too big for a phone's memory.
