How to convert AAC to MP3

  1. Drop your AAC file on the box above, or tap it to choose. You can pick several files at once.
  2. MP3 is already selected. Adjust the quality if you like (192 kbps is a good default, 320 kbps for the best quality).
  3. Tap the download button next to each file. Your MP3 is saved to your Downloads folder.

AAC is used by Apple devices, YouTube and many recorders. If a player or website only takes MP3, convert it here without installing anything.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between AAC and M4A?

AAC is the audio codec. M4A is the usual file container for it. Raw .aac files (ADTS) and .m4a files both work here.

Which bitrate should I pick?

Pick a bitrate a little above the AAC's own: 192 kbps for a 128 kbps AAC, 256–320 kbps for higher-quality files.

Can I convert several files at once?

Yes. Choose or drop as many files as you like. They are converted one after another and each gets its own download button.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your audio is never sent to a server, so it works with private and unreleased recordings.

Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit. Very long files (over about an hour) may be too big for a phone's memory.
