How to use the speed changer
- Drop a song, lesson or voice memo on the box above, or tap to choose it.
- Move the speed slider or tap a preset. Keep “Keep the original pitch” ticked so voices don’t sound like chipmunks.
- Listen, then tap “Change speed & save” to download.
Musicians slow songs down to learn a fast solo; students speed up lectures; podcasters tighten a slow speaker. With pitch kept, only the timing changes. Untick it to get the classic tape-speed effect, where speed and pitch change together.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep the pitch?
Yes, by default. It uses time-stretching (WSOLA) so the key stays the same. Untick the box for a record-player style change.
Why does it take a few seconds?
Time-stretching a full song is real number-crunching. It runs on your own device, so a 3-minute song usually takes a few seconds; older phones take longer.
What speed is best for learning a song?
Start at 0.75×, then 0.5× for very fast parts. Very slow settings (below 0.5×) can sound smeared.
