Volume Booster: Make Audio Louder

Make a quiet MP3, voice memo or video sound louder, free, without distortion. A built-in limiter stops clipping. Or normalize to a clean −1 dB peak. No upload.

How to use the volume booster

  1. Drop the quiet file on the box above, or tap to choose it.
  2. Pick how much louder it should be. “Boost with limiter” keeps loud parts from distorting.
  3. Listen, compare with “Original”, then tap “Boost & save”.

+6 dB sounds about twice as loud to most people as the original in a quiet recording. The limiter only touches the loudest peaks, so you can push quiet recordings much further than with a plain volume change.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I boost?

Up to +20 dB. With the limiter on, very large boosts make the sound denser and flatter, so +6 to +12 dB is usually the sweet spot.

What does normalize do?

It raises (or lowers) the whole file so its loudest moment sits at −1 dB. It never distorts, but it can’t make a file louder if it already has one loud peak.

Will it make my MP3 sound worse?

Not with the limiter on. Saving as MP3 re-encodes the file, so choose 256–320 kbps for music, or WAV to keep it lossless.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The processing runs in your browser on your device.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.
