How to convert an audio file
- Drop one or more audio or video files on the box above, or tap it to choose.
- Pick the output format (MP3, WAV or OGG) and the quality.
- Tap the download button next to each converted file. Nothing is uploaded, so it is fast even on slow connections.
Most online converters upload your file to a server, then make you wait for a download link. This one does the work on your own device with the Web Audio API and a JavaScript MP3 encoder, so your audio stays private.

Frequently asked questions
Which formats can I convert?
You can open MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF, WebM and the audio of MP4 videos, and save as MP3 (128–320 kbps), WAV (16, 24 or 32-bit) or OGG Opus.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, AIFF and MP4 work in Safari on iPhone. OGG and WebM need a recent iPhone (iOS 17 or newer). Creating OGG files needs Chrome, Edge or Firefox; on iPhone, choose MP3 or WAV.
Does converting to a better format improve the quality?
No. Converting a lossy file (MP3, M4A, OGG) to WAV or FLAC keeps the same sound; it only makes the file uncompressed. Converting from lossless (WAV, FLAC, AIFF) to MP3 or OGG makes a much smaller file with a small loss.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Choose or drop as many files as you like. They are converted one after another and each gets its own download button.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your audio is never sent to a server, so it works with private and unreleased recordings.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit. Very long files (over about an hour) may be too big for a phone's memory.
Are tags and album art kept?
Not yet. The audio is converted, but artist, title and cover tags are not copied to the new file.
